"NeuroMorphic - We are woven together, by Hand and by Machine"

I have always been inspired by the power of life and nature, by the wonder and resonance of being connected to other human beings and the earth itself. My work is an expression of what I label as "NeuroMorphic". We are woven together, by Hand and by Machine. I am thoroughly fascinated with technology and view technology as natural as anything that other animals create. As a young woman I learned to master many different techniques and processes so that I would have freedom to create objects intuitively, like a dancer responding to a song unrehearsed. I feel that life experience is a necessary element of creating artistic objects coupled with our emotional and intellectual abilities. As a scientist, healer, philosopher, and artist I include all these aspects of my experience in the work. My multicultural heritage of Spanish, Cuban, Puerto Rican, and American is naturally intertwined. For me, art is about ideas and the importance of the hand, expressed freely.
