July 2012

The encaustic technique is an extremely tactile and sensuous one, requiring patience as it cools. I use the delicate and seductive obscuring of the wax medium to slowly create layers of paper ephemera that hide other layers in a reverse archaeology. Only hints of the mystery of what is beneath usually remain.
