Through the many decades of creating one of a kind artist books I have failed to document them after creation and they are in the homes of collectors that I did not record. I never thought about it until recently when I realized that I document my paintings and other works on a regular basis for the past 10 years. For some reason since artist books are comprised of many pages I never routinely documented them. I am now going to document the ones I still have in my possession. In truth it can take me many years to do one book since each ‘page’ is a work in itself. I create simple artist books. I am not the type of book artist whose work is the structure of the book itself, but rather the books I create embody the work that is in them. I do love those artists who create these beautiful and interesting sculptures that are books, but I am not one of them. My books are drawings, water based paintings, papers, and printmaking. Conceptually they embody ‘Words are Seeds”. Here are a few examples:
