Everything in art is an abstraction with different degrees of ‘recognizability’.
BioMorphic Floral: complexity – the beauty of being alive as well as the beauty in death and decay.
Crochet – the Hand is the Mind: these are individual works. I have more but need to photograph them. I present crochet many times as an installation in an entire room/exhibition when I get the chance.
Germs: the word that the lay public uses for bacteria and viruses. They have a complex relationship to humans. They have evolved with us and we need them to survive in some instances (such as our gut flora). But in other instances they can kill us.
Pods and Cells: Metaphors for our networks/connected nature, while being a single ‘alone’ unit at the same time. Still referencing ‘germs’ to an extent but also our own cells and other structures.
LANDSCAPE: rather than being more ‘photographic’, I have loved the beautiful and abstract geometry that exists in our man-made ‘natural’ landscape.
Reconstruction – Grid – Purely Abstract.
